“From the ashes of my old skin, I rise; a terror in the night to those who know no fear. I’ll be the injustice they crave, a cruel blade cutting through their existence until the earth forgets they were ever there. I’ll remain a constant barrier of protection to those in need, for as long as the moon shines upon these lands. Unchanging, Unbreakable.”

- Raven, Good Witch Gone Bad

Gathering all my thoughts at 1 AM is going to be a challenge, but I graciously accept because I just need to talk about this book.

If you are looking for a QUICK dark paranormal romance that will have you swooning for the ruler of the Shadowlands and the ‘Little Witch’ that he’s fated to serve, then you have your book.

I am a huge fan of dark paranormal romances. I find true escape in these types of books and Good Witch Gone Bad by Addy O’Brien gave me everything I needed. The characters, Silas and Raven, have me in a chokehold.

Fun fact, there is tail play in here. Yes, you heard me correctly. At the end of chapter 23, there is DEMON. TAIL. PLAY. You’re welcome for the heads up.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars

My definition of a 5 star read:

10/10 read. Spice hit on all levels. Plot had me absolutely hooked. Happy to add this to my end of year ‘5 star’ list. Very likely a book that I would recommend frequently if asked about the category that it falls under.

UHHM YES. 5 STARS.

This was a fairly quick read, and I have no doubt that you could devour this in one sitting if you wanted to. Even though it is a fast-paced read, the relationship built between the characters still has substance. I loved that they were immediately drawn to each other and the MMC was the one to feel that instant attraction and deep connection to her. I also love that she was almost oblivious to it at first, since her freedom and revenge took precedence. She thought he was trying to trick her, and to an extent, she was right!

I was a big fan of the storyline. At certain points I was shocked, elated, and even annoyed. Annoyed with Nyx. Once you read this book, you’ll understand too. If you are not annoyed with her…then you better call Houston because we will have a massive problem!

Tropes:

  • Witch X Demon

  • Revenge Arc

  • Fated Mates

  • Taboo Spice

My Spice Rating - 4 Stars

My definition of 4 chilli pepper spice rating:

Romance with 3-5 smutty/spicy scenes or mentions of spicy things.

There were definitely this many full on smutty/sex scenes that stand out to me. I 1000000% wish there was more tail action, (sorry mom!), I swear that’s one of the hottest scenes!

She also makes him get on his knees to please her, WINK WINK! She also calls him “good boy”. I think I may need more “good boy”, and less, “good girl”, in my life at the moment. This book came into my life at the most perfect time!

Funniest, Out of Context Shmexy Time Quote:

  • “Any hole will do, correct?” - Raven

    • If I were you, and currently reading this out of context, I know that I would just need to add this book to my TBR, but HEY! That’s just me!

The next book of the series is coming out very shortly, and I cannot wait to get my grubby little hands on it. I know I’m going to devour it like I am a starved woman.

Not only did this book bring some, joie de vivre back into my life, but it also brought an amazing author. I am always too stunned to speak when I get to work with authors and get to know who they are. There’s something so special about being able to support not only a good author, but a great human being! Addy is too precious and I am excited to see her grow and flourish as an Indie Author.
